Get ready India! The BMW F 450 GS is Coming to Make your Adventure Dreams a Reality

BMW Motorrad India has recently discontinued its entry-level bikes, the G 310 R and G 310 GS, as updating them to meet the new OBD-2B emission norms would have been too costly. To fill this gap, the company is planning to launch the new BMW F 450 GS in the Indian market.

The F 450 GS was first shown as a concept at EICMA 2024 in Milan and was later displayed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. Recently, the bike was spotted in a production-ready form near the TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It looks quite similar to the concept model, featuring a sharp design, a small windscreen, and a beak-like front fender. However, unlike the concept’s cross-spoke wheels, the test bike had alloy wheels like the G 310 GS.

The F 450 GS is expected to come with a 19-inch front wheel, adjustable USD front forks, and a rear mono-shock. While the concept weighed around 175 kg, the production version might be slightly heavier. It will also include features like knuckle guards.

The bike will be powered by a new 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 48 bhp. Torque figures haven’t been shared yet, but the engine is expected to offer strong mid-range performance. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch will come as standard.

BMW is expected to launch the F 450 GS in the last quarter of 2025. It will be manufactured locally by TVS at its Hosur plant. The bike will be positioned below the BMW F 900 GS and is likely to be priced between ₹3.5 to ₹4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure in the Indian market.
