The new Tata Sierra is finally here, but Tata isn’t rushing to drop all versions at once. Instead, they’re clearly planning for the long run. A bunch of future variants are already lined up — like a 7-seater model, an AWD version, and even CNG or hybrid options.

A big reason this is possible is Tata’s new ARGOS platform (All-terrain Ready, Omni-Energy, Geometry Scalable). It’s built to be super flexible and can support petrol, diesel, CNG, and hybrid powertrains without major changes. So Tata can easily make different body styles and drivetrain setups for the Sierra.

One of the hottest topics is the 7-seater Sierra. Thanks to the modular platform, adding a third row is technically easy. The new Sierra already has a long wheelbase, lots of cabin space, and a massive 622-litre boot. Tata just wants to see how the 5-seater performs in the market before greenlighting the 7-seater. If launched, it’ll likely sit just below the Safari.

Another big update is AWD. The electric Sierra coming next year will get AWD first, probably using the same dual-motor setup as the Harrier EV. The petrol/diesel Sierra is also expected to get AWD within the next 12–18 months.

Fuel options won’t stop at petrol and diesel either. With CNG becoming popular in midsize SUVs, a Sierra CNG makes total sense. And since Tata is pushing hybrids too, a strong hybrid Sierra could also come later once the ICE models stabilize.

Bookings for the all-new Sierra open on December 16, and deliveries will start mid-January 2026. The complete price list will be revealed next month.
