Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car for regular buyers, the e-Vitara, is built on the brand-new Heartect e skateboard platform, made just for EVs. It’s aiming big right from the start with a 500+ km range on a single charge. At launch, you’ll get two battery options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh.
Inside, the e-Vitara is packed with cool features: a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, auto AC, ventilated seats, and more. Maruti will offer it in four variants, and the official launch is set for December 2, 2025.

Maruti Suzuki’s e-Vitara will come with two LFP battery packs — 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh — promising an impressive range of over 500 km on a single charge.
Maruti Suzuki is finally set to reveal the prices of its first electric SUV in India, the e-Vitara. But interestingly, India is not the first market to get it. The SUV has been in production for months at Maruti’s Gujarat plant, and export units started piling up as early as August. Before launching at home, the e-Vitara was already shipped to several European countries like Norway, the UK, Germany, Austria, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Hungary, and France. The first batch had about 2,900 units, followed by another shipment of more than 6,000 units.
During this time, Maruti kept its local lineup active by launching the Victoris, a midsize SUV placed below the Grand Vitara. It quietly gained over 25,000 bookings within weeks through the Arena network. Now, the e-Vitara will finally make its India debut on December 2, 2025, and will be sold via Nexa dealerships. Prices are expected to start at above ₹17 lakh (ex-showroom).

The e-Vitara will come with two LFP batteries sourced from BYD — 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh.
- The bigger pack is claimed to offer 500+ km range.
- The smaller battery is paired with a 144 PS / 192.5 Nm motor.
- The larger one gets a 174 PS / 192.5 Nm motor.

With DC fast charging, the battery can go from 0 to 80% in around 50 minutes. The SUV is based on the new Heartect e platform, which has been designed for better safety and stronger structure in EVs. It also gets good features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 10.1-inch digital driver display, 10-way powered driver seat, seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera.
Once launched, it will face tough competition from the Tata Curvv EV, Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XEV 9e, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the Windsor EV.
