The e-Vitara will come in two battery variants, and you’ll find it at Nexa’s premium outlets instead of regular Maruti showrooms.
Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, is finally making its big debut in India tomorrow — and the hype is real! What’s surprising is that the SUV has actually been in production for months now. At Maruti’s Gujarat plant, export units have already been rolling out, and many of them have even been shipped from Pipavav Port to several European and global markets.
So before Indian buyers could even spot one on the road, the e Vitara was already travelling the world.
Meanwhile, Maruti expanded its SUV lineup here by introducing the new Victoris, positioned below the Grand Vitara. But now, all eyes are back on the much-awaited e Vitara — the brand’s first zero-emission car for India.

The SUV will be sold through Nexa dealerships, and prices are expected to start above ₹17 lakh (ex-showroom). To suit different types of buyers, Maruti will offer the e Vitara with two BYD-sourced LFP battery packs — a 48.8 kWh option and a bigger 61.1 kWh pack that claims 500+ km range on a single charge. Both support DC fast charging.
Power-wise, the smaller battery variant gets a 144 PS / 192.5 Nm motor, while the larger battery model uses a 174 PS motor with the same torque. And thanks to fast charging, you can juice the battery from 0–80% in around 50 minutes.
In the EV game, the e Vitara will face some serious competition — Tata Curvv EV, Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the Windsor EV.
Built on the new Heartect e platform, the SUV looks more futuristic than Maruti’s regular ICE models. On the inside, it packs a bunch of premium features:
- 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- 10.1-inch digital driver display
- 10-way powered driver seat
- Level 2 ADAS
- Seven airbags
- Auto climate control
- 360-degree camera
Overall, the e Vitara feels like Maruti’s boldest EV move yet — and tomorrow’s launch will finally reveal how competitive it really is.
