The Mahindra XUV 7XO is launching on January 5, 2026. It’s basically an updated version of the XUV700, but with more premium features and a fresher look.
After successfully rebranding the XUV300 as the XUV 3XO, Mahindra is now gearing up to do the same with its premium SUV, the XUV700. Ever since its launch in 2021, the XUV700 has been a blockbuster, racking up huge sales despite its premium price tag. Recently, Mahindra also showcased the XEV 9S (based on the XUV.e8 concept), which shares some design DNA with the XUV700.
Now, Mahindra is taking things a step further by introducing an updated version of the XUV700 under a brand-new name — XUV 7XO. The global debut is locked in for January 5, 2026, and the company has already dropped a teaser revealing parts of the redesigned front and rear. You can clearly spot the new LED signatures, giving it a more futuristic vibe.
The teaser shows a boomerang-style LED DRL at the front and an inverted L-shaped LED setup at the rear, both connected by a sleek light bar. These lighting elements seem heavily inspired by the new XEV 9S. Expect fresh colour options, new alloy wheels, a redesigned grille, and sharper bumpers. However, the overall size and shape are likely to remain the same, and Mahindra is expected to continue offering the familiar 2.2L mHawk diesel and 2.0L mStallion petrol engines with both 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.

But the biggest changes are on the inside. The XUV 7XO is set to become Mahindra’s first ICE SUV to get a triple-screen dashboard — similar to the XEV 9S and XEV 9E. It will also feature 5G connectivity, Boss Mode, and built-in Alexa, giving it a proper premium-tech feel.
The entire cabin layout is expected to be revamped with a new dashboard, centre console, AC vents, steering wheel, and upgraded materials. Currently, the XUV700 is priced between ₹13.66 lakh and ₹25.14 lakh (ex-showroom), and the XUV 7XO will likely be positioned slightly higher.
Interestingly, the entry-level XEV 9S already packs in loads of features — including Level 2 ADAS — for ₹19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). So it’ll be exciting to see how Mahindra positions the XUV 7XO next to its electric sibling. What’s still unclear is whether the existing XUV700 will continue alongside the all-new 7XO.
