Honda CB125 Hornet Officially Unveiled in India

Honda has recently introduced the CB125 Hornet, a new motorcycle in the 125cc segment. It was showcased alongside the Shine 100 DX as part of Honda’s 25th anniversary celebrations in India. Official bookings for both models will begin on August 1, with prices expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Engine and Performance

The CB125 Hornet is powered by a 123.94cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine uses fuel injection technology, complies with the OBD2B emission norms, and is compatible with E20 fuel (petrol blended with up to 20% ethanol). It produces a maximum power of 11 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 11.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Honda claims that the bike can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, which makes it one of the quickest in its class. The motorcycle weighs 124 kg and is built on a diamond-type frame.

Market Positioning

The CB125 Hornet will compete in the highly competitive 125cc segment, which includes models like the Bajaj Pulsar NS125, TVS Raider, and Hero Xtreme 125R.
