Upcoming Royal Enfield 250cc Hybrid Motorcycle in the Works

Royal Enfield’s New 250cc Hybrid Bike Coming Soon – Affordable, Stylish & Future-Ready!

Royal Enfield, the king of 350cc cruisers in India, is cooking up something exciting – a brand-new 250cc hybrid motorcycle! Yep, a smaller, more fuel-efficient bike that’s expected to be easier on your pocket and still carry that classic RE swag.

Word is, Royal Enfield is teaming up with CFMoto (a Chinese bike brand) to get the hybrid engine sorted. Talks are already in advanced stages, and the deal might be locked in by early 2026.

This upcoming bike will sit below the Hunter 350 in RE’s lineup, and the expected price is around ₹1.25–1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The engine will meet the latest BS6 Phase 2 rules and will even be ready for the future fuel efficiency norms (CAFÉ rules, for those who care ). Basically, it’s being built to be compact, hybrid, and super fuel-efficient — perfect for city rides and college commutes!

Internally, the project is being called “Platform V.” While CFMoto is handling the engine side, Royal Enfield is designing everything else — like the frame, styling, and suspension. So don’t worry, it’ll still have that Royal Enfield look and feel.

Also, don’t expect any co-branded bikes. This is a pure tech partnership. Some RE folks recently flew to China during the Shanghai Motor Show to check out suppliers and tech.

This bike is RE’s move to grab attention from young buyers and first-time upgraders — people switching from 100–150cc bikes and looking for something cooler and more powerful. You can expect goodies like LED lights, a digital meter, single-channel ABS, and the signature RE design vibe.

Royal Enfield is planning to upgrade their Chennai factory to support more production and keep prices low by using up to 90% local parts. Their big goal? To double their yearly output to 2 million bikes by 2030 — including this hybrid, new 750cc bikes, and even their future Flying Flea electric bike!
