Top 4 New Electric SUVs Coming to India – Stunning Features & Big Range

India is getting 4 exciting new electric SUVs from Tata, Maruti & Toyota. Priced between ₹10–20 lakh, these EVs promise style, range & smart features.

New Electric SUVs Confirmed To Launch Soon In India – Affordable EVs You Should Watch Out For

India’s electric vehicle market is growing fast, and things are about to get even more exciting. By March, four new electric SUVs from Tata, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will arrive in showrooms. The best part? All of them are expected to be priced in the ₹10–20 lakh (ex-showroom) range for the base variants, making EV ownership more realistic for middle-class buyers.

If you are a college student planning your first future car, or someone looking to switch to electric, these four upcoming SUVs are definitely worth knowing about.

1. Tata Punch.ev (Facelift)

The Tata Punch.ev was originally launched in January 2024, and now it is getting a facelift just two years later. The updated model is scheduled to go on sale on 20 February.

So what’s new?

The biggest changes are in the design. The front of the SUV now looks more modern and slightly more aerodynamic. It gets:

  • A cleaner front mask
  • New housing for headlamps
  • A concave-style grille
  • Redesigned rear lamps connected by a slim light strip
  • A chunkier rear skid plate

Tata Motors is also introducing two new colours – yellow and brown – which should make the Punch.ev look fresher and more youthful.

As of now, there is no confirmation about changes to the battery pack or motor. So performance and range are likely to remain similar to the current model.

The Punch.ev has already been popular among city buyers because of its compact size and SUV styling. With this facelift, Tata is trying to keep it attractive in a competitive EV market.

2. Tata Sierra.ev

The Tata Sierra name brings back nostalgia. Now, Tata is bringing it back as a modern electric SUV.

The Sierra.ev is the pure electric version of the all-new Sierra. It will have a different front design compared to the petrol/diesel version. Instead of a traditional grille, it will get:

  • A fully covered body-coloured front panel
  • Gloss black lower bumper
  • Sleek and cleaner DRL strip

This gives it a futuristic EV look.

Tata is expected to offer two versions:

  • Single-motor RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive)
  • Dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel Drive)

Both versions are likely to get independent rear suspension, which should improve ride comfort and handling.

The Sierra.ev is expected to be unveiled in March and possibly launched the same month. It will likely target buyers who want a bigger, more premium electric SUV compared to the Punch.ev.

For many young buyers, this could be one of the most exciting EV launches of the year.

3. Maruti e-Vitara

This is a big moment for Maruti Suzuki because the e-Vitara will be the company’s first fully electric vehicle in India.

And honestly, it looks quite impressive on paper.

Maruti will offer the e-Vitara in two FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) versions:

Version 1:

  • 142 hp
  • 192.5 Nm torque
  • 49 kWh LFP battery
  • Expected range: 440 km

Version 2:

  • 172 hp
  • 192.5 Nm torque
  • 61 kWh battery
  • Confirmed range: 543 km

A range of over 500 km is a big deal in this price segment. It reduces range anxiety and makes long-distance travel more practical.

The e-Vitara is also loaded with features, including:

  • 10-way power-adjustable ventilated driver’s seat
  • Ventilated front passenger seat
  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 40:20:40 split sliding and reclining rear seat

These features make it feel premium and practical at the same time.

Maruti is expected to announce the official prices by the end of February. Since Maruti has a strong service network across India, this EV could become very popular.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is basically a redesigned version of the Maruti e-Vitara. It shares the same platform, battery options and powertrain.

However, Toyota has given it a different design identity.

It features:

  • A “Hammerhead Shark” inspired front design
  • Curvy headlamps
  • Sleek gloss black panel between the headlamps
  • Cleaner and more elegant front bumper

The rest of the design, including the interior, remains mostly similar to the e-Vitara.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is expected to launch the Ebella around the end of February. It will likely attract buyers who prefer Toyota’s brand value and design style.

Final Thoughts

India’s electric SUV market is becoming more exciting and competitive. With four new models launching by March in the ₹10–20 lakh range, buyers will have more options than ever before.

  • Punch.ev – Updated compact EV with fresh design
  • Sierra.ev – Bigger, more premium and futuristic electric SUV
  • e-Vitara – Maruti’s first EV with impressive range
  • Urban Cruiser Ebella – Toyota’s stylish version of the e-Vitara

these launches show that electric cars are no longer just expensive luxury vehicles. They are slowly becoming practical and affordable for everyday buyers.

If pricing is competitive and charging infrastructure continues to improve, 2026 could be a major turning point for electric SUVs in India.
