In April 2025, Hyundai dropped to the fourth position among car manufacturers, recording total sales of 44,374 units—down from 50,201 units in the same month last year.
Hyundai’s domestic sales in April 2025 stood at 44,374 units, marking a 12% decline compared to 50,201 units sold in April 2024. This drop has moved Hyundai to the fourth position among carmakers in India in terms of monthly sales.

The Creta continued to be the brand’s top performer, recording 17,016 units in April. While this was a 6% decrease from March 2025 (18,059 units), it represented a 10% growth over April 2024.
In contrast, the Exter saw a sharp fall in demand, with sales down by 30% year-on-year—from 7,756 units in April 2024 to 5,416 units in April 2025. Compared to March 2025 (5,901 units), this also reflects an 8% month-on-month dip.

The Venue also showed signs of weakening performance. Sales in April 2025 dropped to 7,953 units, down 13% from 9,120 units a year ago. Additionally, it registered a 24% month-on-month fall from the 10,441 units sold in March. However, Hyundai is preparing a new-generation Venue, set to launch later this calendar year.

The Grand i10 and i20 Elite both saw notable drops in sales, with double-digit declines both year-on-year and month-on-month.

In the sedan segment, the Verna and Aura also faced challenges. Verna sales fell sharply to 1,005 units — a 36% drop compared to April 2024 and 26% lower than March 2025. The Aura performed slightly better, with a 7% year-on-year decline.
Hyundai’s premium models were also affected. Alcazar sales fell 17% compared to last year and saw a 29% drop from March. The Tucson dropped from 201 units in April 2024 to just 65 this year, marking a 68% decline.

Electric models weren’t spared either. Sales of the Ioniq 5 dropped from 45 units last April to just 16 in April 2025, with a 16% dip compared to the previous month.
Earlier this year, Hyundai launched the Creta Electric and is preparing for an aggressive product roll out, including several new hybrids and EVs.
