Top 25 Best-Selling Cars In India – May 2026: Dzire Stays No.1, Fronx And Ertiga Follow
The Indian passenger vehicle market remained strong in May 2026, with SUVs continuing to dominate buyer preferences. Out of the top 25 best-selling vehicles during the month, 18 were SUVs or utility vehicles, highlighting the segment’s growing popularity among Indian customers.
However, despite the SUV boom, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire once again emerged as the country’s best-selling passenger vehicle. The compact sedan recorded sales of 24,546 units, registering an impressive 36 percent year-on-year growth.
Maruti Suzuki enjoyed a highly successful month overall, placing 11 models in the list of the top 25 best-selling cars. The brand’s strong presence across hatchback, sedan, SUV and MPV segments helped it maintain its dominance in the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki Occupies Top Three Positions
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx secured the second spot with sales of 20,686 units. The compact SUV witnessed a remarkable 52 percent increase compared to the same period last year, making it one of the fastest-growing vehicles in the country.
